Certicom certificates are used by ZigBee Smart Energy networks to authenticate devices on the network. For more information see Smart Energy Certificate Management.
https://digi-se.appspot.com/certs allows a developer to:
You must have an account with Certicom in order to create test certificates that may be loaded on the gateway. If you do not already have an account with Certicom visit www.certicom.com to create an account.
You’ll need a Digi Smart Energy gateway with ZigBee that is connected to Device Cloud. See Devices for more information.
Go to https://digi-se.appspot.com/certs and select your Digi gateway from the Gateway dropdown (see Gateway Selection).
The EUI (64-bit long address) of your gateway should automatically load in the Gateway EUI field. If the field doesn’t auto-populate, make sure that your gateway is connected to Device Cloud and running the Smart Energy Framework. You may enter any EUI in this field to request a test certificate for that EUI. You may also modify the “Profile Attribute Data” field: it is currently set for a Digi Smart Energy device with no custom data.
Click the button labeled Request Test Certificate to load dialog to request test certificate from Certicom.
Fill out your Certicom username and password. If you do not already have an account with Certicom visit www.certicom.com to create an account.
Click the button labeled Send Certificate Request in dialog to request test certificate from Certicom. Your certificate should now be loaded in the fields of the second box. If there is an error, make sure that the Gateway EUI is filled out and you have properly filled in your Certicom username and password.
Go to https://digi-se.appspot.com/certs and select your Digi gateway from the Gateway dropdown (see Gateway Selection).
Fill out the fields in the Certificate Staging Area. You can Request a test certificate from Certicom to accomplish this.
Click the button labeled Program Certificate to send the certificate to your device. You’ll see an alert to indicate success or failure. If the request fails, make sure the Digi gateway you have selected is connected to Device Cloud and is running the Smart Energy Framework Python code.
Go to https://digi-se.appspot.com/certs and select your Digi gateway from the Gateway dropdown (see Gateway Selection).
Click the button labeled Revert to Production Certificate to remove the user programmable certificate and revert to the factory installed production certificate. You’ll see an alert to indicate success or failure. If the request fails, make sure the Digi gateway you have selected is connected to Device Cloud and is running the Smart Energy Framework Python code.
